Alberta Health Link offers 24 hour medical advice for non-emergency situations. Dial 811 for assistance. The nice nurse had nothing to offer me other than assurances that there are no red flags on my symptoms… Just a sleepless night. Any advice for a twitching muscle?
Good morning Sunshine. Hmmm magnesium?
I took a magnesium tablet before I went to bed… First time I Took some in close to a week. I suppose another tablet won’t hurt. Thanks, Rhonda.
I take 4 a day. 2 in the morning and 2,in the evening. About 12 hours apart. Also maybe try an Epsom salt bath and or a magnesium spray.
Have you tried massaging it?
yup. that didn’t work.
Did you see your doctor?
Magnesium deficiency
I have often suggested magnesium to my Nia students for muscle cramps, but this was not muscle cramps… I have never had muscles pulse and try to jump out of my skin like that before! The low sodium answer seems to fit… it has stopped jumping since I ate some salt and stopped drinking water a couple hours ago…
I make a magnesium oil and spray that on your leg and feet
More salt in your diet?
You win for the closest answer Sharon Falconer! Since I have low blood pressure anyway, I am not only decreasing my water intake, but increasing my intake of sea salt a bit for now.
If you increase your water you really need to increase your salt intake Tina. I’ve had this problem for months now and I have started the Cal/Mag and increased my salt intake. It has worked well. When I back off it starts again.
Sharon Falconer I never put the 2 and 2 together… tough lesson! Thanks for your feedback, Sharon.
Sorry Hunny, all the advice below is WRONG… What you need is more LUVIN’ <3 <3 :) :) I'll be right over
can’t wait!
You need a holiday! A full body massage!… And going out on a limb… A box of oreos! ( right Neil Thrussell)
hee hee… I’ll take all of that… except the oreos.
Welcome to my world.
Ok, my sister-in-law to the rescue!! She says my sodium levels are probably out of whack, causing the muscle twitches. You see, she knows my history (unlike the nice nurse at Health Link) – I was recently treated for a bladder infection, and was therefore increasing my water consumption considerably…. and lowering my sodium levels. I just have to quit drinking so much water! phew. THanks Sherry Thrussell-Maligaspe
What about Magnesium? This helps to calm the muscles.
